Cash runway

Estimate how many months current cash will last if inflows and outflows stay unchanged.

Open the calculator on the home page

How the calculation works

Net monthly burn = monthly outflows − monthly inflows. When burn is positive, runway in months = cash balance / net monthly burn.

Worked example

Example: cash balance 12,000, inflows 1,800 and outflows 3,800 per month. Net burn is 2,000 and runway is 6 months.

Understanding the result

Six months is an estimate under constant cash flows. If inflows are at least as large as outflows, there is no net burn and no runway is calculated.

Limits and assumptions

Debt, delayed receipts, seasonality, one-off payments and future changes in costs are excluded. This is not a solvency guarantee.
